Mother to Son

Readers:  To anyone who has experienced the love of a mother in any way.

Mother to Son

By Langston Hughes 1902–1967 Langston Hughes

Well, son, I’ll tell you:
Life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.
It’s had tacks in it,
And splinters,
And boards torn up,
And places with no carpet on the floor—
Bare.
But all the time
I’se been a-climbin’ on,
And reachin’ landin’s,
And turnin’ corners,
And sometimes goin’ in the dark
Where there ain’t been no light.
So boy, don’t you turn back.
Don’t you set down on the steps
’Cause you finds it’s kinder hard.
Don’t you fall now—
For I’se still goin’, honey,
I’se still climbin’,
And life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.

Happy Sunshine & April Showers

Last week so many of you contacted me to declare that keeping our heads in the clouds may help temporarily in taking our minds off difficult life situations. However when seeking relaxation and rejuvenation water is our most calming remedy.

For those of us who are reflecting on the deeper questions of life while spending time near water please consider that water comes from the clouds.

Still being immersed in water soothes the mind, body and spirit. Thank you all for that reminder.

In any case (clouds and/or water) I wish you all peace and blessings in your most life affirming choice of contemplation.

Happy Sunshine & April Showers!

FROM 40 DAYS OF LENT TO EASTER

Greetings Supporters,

Several of us started out weeks ago sacrificing at least one of our regular temptations for lent.    Some of us may feel we did battle with the devil himself to abstain from the vices we chose to forego at this time of year.  Others may feel that a burden has been lifted in our lives by  having refused to succumb to something we felt was a vice that we could not live without.

No matter how we believe we fared there has been growth for us all.    We have reached the end of our lent journey together and the experience has bestowed many blessings on us all.

Please take this time to reflect and count them.

  HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
